In a landmark step towards justice and dignity, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment letters to the next of kin of terror victims in the Union Territory. Addressing the families, LG Sinha emphasised that these victims were forsaken and forgotten for decades after losing their loved ones to brutal Pakistan-backed terrorism. The move ensures jobs, recognition, and support for the families who suffered silently without any help or compensation.
“This is a historic initiative to finally honour thousands of innocent civilians whose stories were deliberately suppressed. No one came to wipe their tears or recognise their pain. Everyone knew Pakistan-backed terrorists were involved in the killings, but no one provided justice to the elderly parents, wives, brothers, or sisters left behind,” LG Sinha said.
He assured that the administration is committed to reaching every family waiting for justice for decades and will ensure livelihood arrangements and rehabilitation. Helplines have also been set up across districts to register grievances from terror-hit families, with hundreds of complaints from the 90s already received.
“This is just the beginning. We will continue to ensure these families get the justice, respect, and support they deserve after years of suffering,” LG Sinha asserted.
