Govt to Re-Open Cases, Return Properties Of Terror-Hit Families In J&K: LG Sinha

In a significant move towards justice and healing, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha handed over appointment letters to the next of kin of terror victims in the Union Territory. Speaking on the occasion, LG Sinha said these families, who were forsaken and forgotten for decades after losing their loved ones to brutal Pakistan-backed terrorist attacks, will finally receive the justice, jobs, and recognition they deserve.

“This is a historic step to honour thousands of innocent civilians in J&K whose stories were deliberately suppressed for years. No one came to wipe their tears. Everyone knew Pakistan-backed terrorists were involved in the killings, but no one provided justice to the elderly parents, wives, brothers, or sisters left behind,” LG Sinha said.

He assured that the administration will reach the doorsteps of every victim’s family to ensure they get justice, jobs, and arrangements for rehabilitation and livelihood. Helplines have been set up in all districts to register grievances of terror-hit families, including unregistered FIRs and cases of land encroachments or demolished properties. LG Sinha emphasised, “Culprits will not be spared. Our commitment is to bring dignity and support to every victim’s family after years of silent suffering.”
