Terror Plot Foiled: Cache of Chinese Arms Recovered from Kupwara Hideout

Kupwara, August 4, 2025:
In a major breakthrough, security forces successfully thwarted a potential terror strike in North Kashmir. During a 3-day joint search operation in the Kalaroos area of Kupwara district, teams from the Border Security Force (BSF), Indian Army, and Jammu & Kashmir Police discovered a hidden cave used as a terrorist hideout.

The cave yielded a significant cache of Chinese-origin weapons and material, including 12 hand grenades, a Chinese pistol with ammunition, a Kenwood radio set, and a handwritten Urdu manual for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). Additionally, several fire sticks, likely meant for sabotage or signalling, were recovered.

The operation concluded on August 4, with officials stating that the timely action had foiled a nefarious terrorist plan possibly intended to target security forces or civilians in the region.

“Such recoveries validate continuous efforts by our forces to neutralize threats before they escalate,” stated a BSF Kashmir spokesperson.

The seizure of foreign-made arms again underscores the cross-border supply of weapons and the need for heightened counter-terror vigilance in the border regions of Jammu & Kashmir.
