SIA Conducts Raids in Srinagar Over 1990 Abduction and Killing of Kashmiri Pandit Woman

The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Monday launched extensive raids at eight locations across Srinagar in connection with the abduction and killing of Sarla Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandit woman, in April 1990. The incident occurred during the peak of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, when hundreds of Kashmiri Pandit families were forced to flee the Valley. According to officials, the searches are aimed at gathering key evidence, tracking down suspects, and uncovering the larger conspiracy behind the heinous crime. The case holds significant importance as it represents one of the many tragic incidents of targeted violence against the Kashmiri Pandit community. Authorities have intensified investigations to ensure justice is delivered, even decades after the incident, reaffirming the commitment to hold perpetrators accountable.
