PM Modi to Flag Off Vande Bharat Train Between Amritsar and Katra on August 10

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate a new Vande Bharat Express train connecting Amritsar in Punjab to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in Jammu and Kashmir on August 10, according to the Jammu Rail Division. The semi-high-speed train is designed to offer passengers a more comfortable and quicker journey, especially pilgrims heading to the famous shrine.
Train No. 26406 will depart from Katra at 6:40 AM, reaching Amritsar at 12:20 PM, while Train No. 26405 will leave Amritsar at 4:25 PM and arrive at Katra at 10:00 PM. Operating six days a week, the service includes stops at Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar City, and Vyas. Railway officials say this new route will significantly reduce travel time and improve overall passenger experience thanks to the train’s modern features.
