Doda, J&K — In a major counter-terrorism drive, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday carried out simultaneous raids at over 15 locations in Doda district, targeting Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and proclaimed offenders believed to be operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
The operation, conducted with support from other security agencies, aims to dismantle cross-border terror networks that have been aiding infiltration, recruitment, and logistics for militant activities in the Union Territory.
According to senior officials, the crackdown was based on specific intelligence inputs indicating that several individuals in Doda were in direct communication with handlers in Pakistan and PoK. These operatives were allegedly involved in providing safe shelter, facilitating movement, and raising funds for terror outfits.
During the raids, police teams questioned relatives and close associates of the accused, with several mobile devices and documents seized for forensic examination. Authorities have not ruled out further arrests as the investigation progresses.
The operation comes amid heightened security measures in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Independence Day, with agencies on alert to prevent any cross-border attempts to disrupt peace.
Police have reiterated their resolve to act firmly against anyone aiding terrorism, stressing that the law will take its course regardless of a suspect’s location—be it in India, Pakistan, or PoK.
This offensive marks another step in the sustained efforts to root out terrorism from the region and ensure lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
