BSF Trains Village Defence Guards In Akhnoor To Strengthen Border Security

The Border Security Force (BSF) recently conducted a specialised training program for Village Defence Guards (VDGs) in the border areas of Tehsil Akhnoor, district Jammu. The initiative aimed to enhance the preparedness and confidence of VDGs who act as the first line of defence in their villages during emergencies and infiltration attempts.

During the training, BSF instructors focused on improving weapon handling skills, ensuring that VDG members could operate rifles safely and efficiently in crisis situations. Sessions were also held on situational awareness, threat perception, and coordinated security response to potential militant infiltration, smuggling activities, or cross-border threats.

Officials highlighted that such programs instil confidence among villagers and create a robust security ecosystem in border areas vulnerable to frequent threats. The BSF assured that regular refresher training would continue to keep the VDGs updated with the latest security protocols.

The initiative was widely appreciated by the local community, strengthening the synergy between BSF and villagers for collective security.
