A high-level team from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) arrived in Jammu today to assess the extent of damage caused by recent heavy rains, floods, and landslides that have severely impacted the region.
The team visited multiple affected areas where torrential rainfall and flash floods have led to loss of life, destruction of property, and large-scale damage to infrastructure, including roads and bridges. Officials inspected vulnerable zones, interacted with locals, and took stock of the relief and rescue measures being undertaken by the administration.
According to sources, the MHA team is coordinating closely with the Jammu & Kashmir administration and disaster management authorities to ensure effective relief distribution and long-term rehabilitation measures. Immediate focus remains on restoring road connectivity, providing medical aid, and ensuring safe shelter for displaced families.
