Breaking | Major Administrative Reshuffle Ordered by J&K LG Manoj Sinha

In a significant bureaucratic shake-up, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered a large-scale administrative reshuffle in Jammu and Kashmir, affecting key positions across the Union Territory. The move is seen as part of an effort to streamline governance and enhance on-ground administrative efficiency.

As per the latest government order, Anshul Garg has been appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir. Known for his dynamic leadership, Garg’s appointment comes at a time when Kashmir is witnessing heightened developmental and security-related activity.

Avny Lavasa, formerly Deputy Commissioner Jammu, has been promoted as Secretary, Transport Department. Lavasa has earned appreciation for her administrative skills and public outreach efforts.

In a major change for recruitment oversight, Vikas Kundal has been appointed as the Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB).

Several new Deputy Commissioners have also been posted in various districts:

  • Rakesh Minhas – Deputy Commissioner, Jammu
  • Ayushi Sudan – Deputy Commissioner, Samba
  • Indu Kanwal Chib – Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora
  • Shrikant Suse – Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara
  • Rajesh Sharma – Deputy Commissioner, Kathua
  • Ashok Sharma – Deputy Commissioner, Poonch

This administrative rejig is expected to infuse fresh energy into district-level governance and is being closely watched as J&K prepares for upcoming administrative and developmental milestones. The reshuffle also signals the LG administration’s focus on placing trusted officers in key roles to ensure smoother public service delivery and policy implementation.

Observers note that such strategic positioning of officers is in line with the UT’s long-term goals of stability, development, and responsive governance.
