In a major success for security forces, two terrorists were killed during an encounter in the Akhal area of Kulgam district, Jammu and Kashmir. One of the neutralised militants has been identified as Haris Nazir Dar, a wanted terrorist affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Indian Army, CRPF, J&K Police, and SOG launched a cordon and search operation late Wednesday night, leading to a heavy gunfight. With these eliminations, another serious attempt at disrupting peace in the Valley has been foiled. The operation continues as forces search for more possible threats.
