Jammu & Kashmir – In a bid to ease passenger movement amid ongoing disruptions on the Jammu–Srinagar NH-44, Northern Railway has introduced a special train service between Banihal (BAHL) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK).

The special service will operate from September 19 to October 3, 2025, catering to both local commuters and pilgrims heading towards the holy shrine at Katra.

As per the schedule, the train will depart from Banihal at 11:00 AM and return from Katra at 1:45 PM. The initiative is expected to provide safer, faster, and more reliable transport options during the pilgrimage season, ensuring minimum inconvenience to passengers.

Officials highlighted that this move is part of Indian Railways’ commitment to ensure seamless connectivity in the region despite adverse weather conditions. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and book tickets in advance.
