Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express between Amritsar and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Station, further enhancing Jammu & Kashmir’s rapidly expanding railway infrastructure. The state-of-the-art train will offer a faster, more comfortable travel option for thousands of pilgrims visiting the holy shrine each day, while also boosting tourism and the local economy. This development comes a day after the first freight train successfully reached Anantnag from Punjab, marking a breakthrough in Kashmir Valley’s transport and trade connectivity. Under PM Modi’s leadership, J&K has witnessed unprecedented growth in its transport network, with modern rail projects aiming to link remote regions seamlessly to the rest of the country. The new services are expected to not only improve passenger convenience but also accelerate the movement of goods, spurring regional economic growth.
