In a successful counter-terror operation, the Indian Army, in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police, launched Operation ShivShakti in the Poonch Sector on 30 July 2025. Based on pinpoint intelligence inputs, troops engaged in a fierce gunfight near the Line of Control, resulting in the neutralisation of two terrorists. A significant recovery was made, including assault rifles, a pistol, grenades, IEDs, radio sets, and medical supplies. This marks a strategic victory, preventing a major terror infiltration attempt backed by Pakistani handlers. The area is currently under strict surveillance as further combing and search operations are underway.
