Night Curfew Imposed in Samba Border Areas to Support BSF Operations

Samba, J&K | August 9, 2025 — The District Magistrate of Samba, Ayushi Sudan, has ordered the imposition of a night curfew in all areas falling within a 2-kilometre radius of the International Border (IB) in Samba district. The curfew will remain in effect daily from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM for the next two months, unless revoked earlier.

The move comes in coordination with security agencies to assist Border Security Force (BSF) operations, enhance border surveillance, and prevent illegal activities. By restricting civilian movement during night hours, authorities aim to improve monitoring along the sensitive border stretch and support operational readiness.

According to the official order, movement during curfew hours will be permitted only for valid and essential reasons, with individuals required to carry identification documents. Such IDs must be presented upon demand by BSF or police personnel.

The administration has warned that violators will face strict legal consequences under relevant laws. The measure is part of broader security efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region, particularly in the run-up to Independence Day.

Local residents have been urged to cooperate with authorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the curfew and contribute to the security of the border areas.
