Kathua Police busts Pak-backed drone syndicate, arrests four in major crackdown

In a major anti-drug breakthrough, Kathua Police has busted a cross-border drone syndicate linked to Pakistan. Acting on a tip-off, police and BSF recovered 447 grams of opium dropped by drone in Hiranagar. Subsequent investigation led to the arrest of two couriers from Punjab, who were part of a larger network. Further leads resulted in the arrest of a Kathua-based trafficker and a Punjab-based kingpin, who financed consignments through Hawala. Authorities confirmed that the group had smuggled over 30 kg heroin into J&K and Punjab via drones. The crackdown also recovered heroin, cash, and revealed strong Pakistan connections. Investigations are ongoing.
