Indian Army Tests Akash Prime Air Defence System in Ladakh

Indian Army successfully conducted trials of the Akash Prime air defence system at 15,000+ ft altitude in Ladakh.

🔹 Trials were carried out by Army Air Defence units in collaboration with senior DRDO officials.

🔹 2 direct hits achieved on fast-moving aerial targets in rarified high-altitude atmosphere.

🔹 Akash Prime proved its performance earlier during Operation Sindoor, countering Chinese-origin aircraft and Turkish drones.

🔹 The system will now be inducted into the 3rd and 4th regiments of Akash air defence in the Indian Army.

🔹 Another milestone in strengthening indigenous air defence and enhancing high-altitude operational capability.
