Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed heavy rainfall since yesterday morning, with several districts recording alarming precipitation levels. Reasi topped the list with 203mm, followed closely by Katra (193mm) and Batote (157.3mm). Doda received 114mm, while Baderwah (96.2mm), Banihal (95mm), Ramban (82mm), and Jammu (81mm) also reported significant rainfall. South Kashmir saw Kokernag (68.2mm) and Qazigund (68mm) affected, with Srinagar recording 32mm. The Meteorological Department has warned of potential cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides in vulnerable areas. Authorities are on alert, monitoring river levels, and residents have been urged to stay indoors and avoid travel through landslide-prone routes until conditions improve.
