Security forces in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir have intensified vigilance after nearly half-a-dozen drones from Pakistan were spotted hovering over forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC). According to officials, the drone movement was detected around 9:15 pm on Sunday in the Mendhar sector, specifically over Balakote, Langote, and Gursai Nallah. The sightings prompted security forces to swiftly launch a comprehensive search operation to rule out any possibility of arms drops, infiltration, or surveillance attempts. Drone activity along the border has been a recurring concern, posing fresh challenges to India’s security grid. The ongoing operations reflect the proactive stance of security agencies in safeguarding territorial integrity against cross-border threats.
