Jammu, August 24, 2025 – The Directorate of School Education, Jammu, has officially announced the closure of all government and private schools across the Jammu Division on Monday, 25th August 2025, due to inclement weather and bad road conditions.
The order, issued by Joint Director School Education, Mushtaq Ahmed, directs that the decision is in the interest of student safety. The notification has been circulated to the Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, Chief Education Officers, and all relevant departments for immediate implementation.
This comes amid continuous rainfall and warnings of waterlogging and possible landslides in several parts of the region. Authorities have urged parents, teachers, and students to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
The education department has also requested the Information Department to ensure wide publicity of this order through print and electronic media.
