The Jammu administration has initiated a magisterial inquiry into the death of Parvez Ahmed alias Bachi, son of Rehmat Ali, resident of Javed Nagar, Beli Charana, who died following a police retaliation firing in Satwari area on July 25, 2025. As per the communication from SSP Jammu, a police party was attacked with firearms, prompting retaliatory fire during which Parvez sustained bullet injuries and was shifted to GMCH Jammu, where doctors declared him brought dead. An FIR No. 153/2025 under Sections 109(1), 3(5) of BNS, and 3/27 Arms Act has been registered at Satwari Police Station. The Sub-Divisional Magistrate Jammu South has been assigned to conduct the inquiry, with directions to conclude within two weeks and submit a detailed report for further necessary action. The move underscores the administration’s commitment to a fair and transparent probe to ascertain facts surrounding the incident.
