The encounter in the Guddar forest area of Kulgam, South Kashmir, has entered a critical stage with the killing of a second terrorist, officials confirmed on Monday. The gunfight erupted after security forces, acting on specific intelligence inputs, launched a joint search operation in the dense forest. Upon detecting suspicious activity, troops challenged the suspects, who retaliated with gunfire, triggering a fierce exchange. Earlier, one terrorist was neutralized and a Junior Commissioned Officer of the Army was injured in the encounter. With the toll now at two, additional troops have been rushed to ensure no further infiltration. The joint operation by the Army, CRPF, and J&K Police remains underway.
