Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Dr. Rakesh Minhas, conducted an extensive tour of Chowki Choura subdivision to assess damages caused by recent heavy rains and flood-like conditions. He inspected the ongoing NH-144A project, particularly the Kandi and Sungal tunnels, and reviewed progress with officials. The DC also visited remote Panchayats like Rah and Salyote, where he interacted with residents to understand their challenges firsthand. Stressing on speedy action, he directed the concerned departments to restore internal roads within 2 days. Dr. Minhas also emphasized proper monitoring of NH works to avoid further delays, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to both development and disaster relief in the region.
