#Breaking: All Schools in Jammu Division to Remain Closed on September 2 Due to Weather Alerts

Jammu, Sept 1 : The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has ordered the closure of all government and private schools across the Jammu Division on September 2, 2025, in view of inclement weather conditions and safety concerns.

According to the order issued by Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, Director School Education Jammu, the decision was taken after continuous rains triggered landslides in hilly areas, posing a risk to the safety of students and staff.

The directive states that all schools, both government and private, shall remain closed on 02-09-2025. However, the department has instructed schools to conduct online classes wherever possible to ensure that academic activities are not severely disrupted.

Officials added that the decision follows weather alerts and heavy rainfall warnings, which have already impacted road connectivity in several districts of the region.

The DSEJ has circulated the order to divisional and district-level education authorities, as well as the Information Department, for wide publicity through both print and electronic media.

This closure comes as part of precautionary measures to safeguard students, teachers, and staff while rescue and relief teams continue to monitor the situation across affected areas.
