Authorities Order Vacation of Vulnerable Zones in Reasi to Safeguard Pilgrims Amid Safety Concerns

In Reasi, Jammu & Kashmir, the district administration has invoked Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, ordering the immediate vacation of commercial establishments, including hotels and dharamshalas, situated in vulnerable zones. The directive applies from Alini Bridge to Darshani Deodi and Bali Bridge to Asla Chowk, areas deemed highly susceptible to natural disasters such as flash floods and landslides. Officials emphasized that the precautionary step is vital to ensure the safety of thousands of pilgrims visiting the revered Vaishno Devi shrine. Teams from the administration, police, and disaster management authorities are on the ground to monitor compliance and provide assistance. Locals and pilgrims have been urged to follow the safety guidelines strictly.
