Indian Army restores vital Tawi Bridge in Jammu with Bailey Bridge after flood destruction

On 29th August, the Indian Army’s Tiger Division successfully revived Jammu’s Tawi Bridge (Bridge No. 4), which was severely damaged during the recent floods, causing communication disruptions and isolating communities. Army Engineers of the Tiger Division constructed a 110-foot Bailey Bridge on the eastern approach in just 12 hours, overcoming challenges such as collapsed approach roads and restricted working space. The bridge was formally handed over to the civil administration and J&K Police, enabling smooth vehicle movement and reconnecting affected areas. This swift action highlights the Indian Army’s commitment to disaster relief, restoring connectivity, and supporting civilians during natural calamities.
