Suspected Hostile Drone Spotted Near Indo-Pak Border in Jammu, Security Forces Launch Massive Search

A suspected hostile drone was sighted this afternoon in the Gajansoo area, located deep inside Indian territory near the Indo-Pak International Border. The sighting has triggered heightened security concerns, given the frequent use of drones by anti-national elements for surveillance and dropping weapons, explosives, and narcotics in border areas.

According to officials, locals first noticed the drone hovering in the area before alerting security forces. Soon after, joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Border Security Force (BSF), and Army launched massive cordon-and-search operations to trace the unmanned aerial vehicle.

The intrusion comes amid repeated attempts from across the border to use drones for smuggling arms and ammunition into Indian territory. Security agencies are not ruling out the possibility of the drone being used for reconnaissance or to deliver a consignment.

Senior police officials confirmed that the matter is being investigated and that ground forces, along with technical surveillance teams, are working to track the drone’s movement. Additional deployments have been made in vulnerable pockets along the border belt.

Authorities have appealed to residents of border villages to remain alert and immediately report any suspicious flying objects or activities to the nearest security post.

This latest incident underscores the persistent threat of cross-border drone operations, which continue to pose serious security challenges despite enhanced counter-drone measures.
