Udhampur Railway Station Renamed After Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, Name Update in Tickets Soon

Udhampur, Aug 20: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced that the Udhampur Railway Station has been renamed after Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan (MCTM), honouring the brave son of the soil. He said the decision reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to the region.

Dr. Singh clarified that while the renaming was completed, the name “Udhampur” was missed in the computerised ticketing programme by default. Following his request, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw personally intervened, and the correction process has already been initiated to ensure “Udhampur” is included in ticketing.

Adding to the good news, Dr. Singh revealed that Udhampur Airport will soon start civilian flight operations, with necessary arrangements currently being finalised. This development is expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost regional growth.
