Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, accompanied by Mrs Sarita Singh, paid a solemn visit to Mehradasi village in Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu district, the hometown of late Sgt Surendra Kumar, who made the ultimate sacrifice during Op Sindoor. The IAF Chief met Sgt Kumar’s mother, Mrs Nanu Devi, wife Mrs Seema, and children Vritika and Daksh, offering heartfelt condolences and honoring his bravery.
Jhunjhunu is celebrated for its unmatched contribution to the Armed Forces, with 21,700 ex-servicemen and 3,552 serving air warriors. The Air Chief lauded the district’s legacy of patriotism, noting that such communities form the backbone of the nation’s defence. His visit was not only a gesture of respect but also a reminder that the sacrifices of fallen heroes will always be remembered and honored by the Indian Air Force. It reinforced the IAF’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families.
