Indian Navy to Conduct Drills in Arabian Sea on August 11-12

The Indian Navy is set to carry out large-scale operational drills in the Arabian Sea on August 11-12, according to defence sources. The exercises aim to test combat readiness, coordination, and maritime surveillance capabilities, reinforcing India’s strategic presence in the region. In a parallel development, the Pakistan Navy has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) indicating it will also conduct naval drills in its own waters during the same period. While such exercises are routine, their timing and proximity underline the region’s heightened naval activity. These drills are expected to involve advanced warships, aircraft, and maritime patrol assets, focusing on both defensive and offensive manoeuvres. The exercises come amid growing emphasis on securing vital sea lanes, countering piracy, and maintaining readiness for potential contingencies in the Arabian Sea’s strategically important waters.
