Indian Air Force to Conduct Major War Drill Near Pakistan Border on August 12–13

In a significant development, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to conduct a high-intensity war exercise near the Pakistan border on August 12 and 13, 2025. According to official sources, a notification has been issued reserving a large section of airspace in the western sector for this strategic drill, which underscores India’s heightened combat readiness and border vigilance.

The exercise is expected to involve key fighter squadrons, including Sukhoi-30 MKIs, Mirage 2000s, and Rafales, along with support from AWACS, mid-air refueling aircraft, and drone assets. The drills will likely focus on air superiority, precision strikes, electronic warfare, and rapid deployment, simulating real-time scenarios near volatile zones.

With increased threats along the Line of Control and international border, this exercise is seen as a pre-emptive readiness operation. The war drill also comes in the backdrop of ongoing regional tensions and efforts to strengthen India’s deterrent posture against cross-border threats.

Security agencies and civil aviation authorities have been alerted to ensure smooth execution.

This exercise reaffirms the Indian Air Force’s capability and intent to respond swiftly and decisively to emerging challenges along the western frontier.
